The Forest Hill Explorer Program is nationally recognized as a work-based curriculum that teaches young adults, who want a career in law enforcement, the introductory skills needed to get started.

Those who participate will learn leadership skills, assist Forest Hill Police Officers with community events like National Night Out and assist with traffic control, They will also participate in the Ride-A-Long program, compete in numerous Explorer Competitions such as the annual Fort Worth Explorer SWAT Camp, attend Explorer Academies, as well as learn all aspects of a police officer’s job.  It is voluntary for those between 14 and 21 years of age.  These young adults need to maintain a “C” grade point average in school and must undergo a criminal background investigation.  Those who qualify and fulfill all necessary requirements, will become a part of a proud group of young adults who take pride in their community, their fellow Explorers and themselves.

The Explorer Program is offered in partnership through the Boy Scouts of America, Learning For Life and the Forest Hill Police Department.
