The Mayor and six City Council members are elected officials of the citizens of Forest Hill, Texas. They formulate public policy to meet the needs of the community. The City Council appoints the City Manager, the City Attorney, the Municipal Court Judge, and representatives of the various citizens Boards and Commissions. The Council’s public policy activities include adopting the City’s annual budget, establishing general objectives, reviewing and adopting all ordinances and resolutions, and approving purchases and contracts as prescribed by City Charter and State Law.
They meet the first and third Tuesday of the month in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 3219 California Parkway.

Our Boards, Commissions, Committees, and Societies are comprised of citizens who volunteer their time and energy to set the direction of our City’s future. All members must be residents of the city and may only serve on one at a time. There are different requirements for each seat.

Community Development Corporation – meetings held quarterly or as needed
Historical Preservation Commission – meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, January through November or as needed
Planning & Zoning Commission – meetings held on the 1st Monday of the month or as needed
Parks, Recreation and Clean City Commission – meetings held on the 2nd Monday of the month or as needed.
